We’ve seen our fair share of well-recognised faces step aboard a Wahoo Fishing Charters boat. One of the more recent celebrities to head out onto the water for a day was singing sensation Guy Sebastian.
A keen fisherman, Guy joined us in Autumn this year as part of a promotion with Shimano Fishing. Highly experienced, Guy needed no introduction to game fishing and was quick to set up his rig and prepare for the day ahead. We took him to one of our best fishing spots in Sydney where we knew the big fish were biting.
Catch of the day – Blue Marlin fishing
There was little surprise when Guy landed a 200kg Blue Marlin – an absolute beauty! One of the largest fish in the world, the Blue Marlin can weigh up to 900kg. Even though Guy’s was a big catch, it still had plenty of growing to do.
So after the obligatory photo shoot and media commitments, Guy set the fish back into the water. Also one of the fastest fish in the world, the Blue Marlin can clock speeds upwards of 80km to even 110km per hour! This one definitely headed off at full throttle.
